The Department of Accounting offers a BS in accounting and is committed to teaching students how to integrate conceptual and technical knowledge with practical application. Graduates are prepared to sit for certification examinations such as the CPA and CMA and are well trained for their professional careers. The faculty takes pride in advising students, helping them to meet their goals both while in school and beyond.
Students majoring in accounting learn how to integrate conceptual and technical knowledge with practical application. The program prepares students for careers in financial, managerial, governmental/non-profit, and international accounting as well as auditing, information systems, taxation, and business law. Graduates are prepared to sit for certification examinations such as the CPA, CMA, and similar designations.

Accounting 435 Auditing
Students are exposed to the material covered in the Auditing section of the CPA exam. Students learn about reporting, legal aspects, risk, fraud, internal controls, and the impact of technology in the accounting process. Knowledge gained in this course serves all accounting students well in whatever career field they choose as well as preparing them for professional accounting designations.
