Taught by research-driven expert faculty, the online MBA delivers a high touch student experience with online course work and optional synchronous sessions. The UIC Business Online MBA will offer four concentrations and accept new students five times a year.

The degree requirements for the Online MBA are the same as our current MBA program (Flexible, and Accelerated formats). Online MBA students will be required to complete 42 credit hours, which includes the required core courses and a concentration. Admissions requirements are similar to our current MBA program.

Current MBA students can seek approval to switch to the Online MBA program. A “Change of Program” form must be completed and approved by UIC Business. Please note that course offerings will be limited in the first few semesters and online elective offerings will not be available until late 2022. If you have completed approximately 12 or more credit hours up to this point, we would encourage you to continue in your current format, as online course availability will be limited to you for a while.

No, but online courses that have been offered in the past (primarily the required core MBA courses) will continue to be offered to students in the Flexible and Accelerated, MBA formats.

No, Online MBA students must take courses exclusively online. They will also have the option to switch to the Flexible or Accelerated MBA formats if need be in the future, though. This will also require approval through the “Change of Program” form.

No, you are not able to complete the Online MBA as a joint degree student. You would need to complete it by taking courses from the Flexible or Accelerated MBA formats.
